The gruff chain smoking physician is the Chief Medical Officer of the Battlestar Galactica. He is a skilled surgeon who has served many years in the Colonial Fleet. He expected to retire when the Galactica was decommissioned, but when the Cylons attacked, he found himself the most experienced physician among the survivors. He is now faced with his greatest responsibility: care for the last remnants of humanity, and keep the crew of the Galactica in the fight against the Cylons.
